I don’t know about you, but it feels like 2025 has started in a rush with January already a distant memory!
In the busyness of the year starting, school going back and ministries getting back into action in churches, it can be easy to neglect some of the regular checks that we should be doing for our staff and volunteers.
One of the things that we recommend is having some kind of system in place for recording and monitoring the currency of Working with Children Checks, Police Clearances, Safe Church Training and Safe Church Endorsements for all the people serving in your church community.
There are lots of ways to do this, whether in an excel spreadsheet or using a system such as Elvanto or Planning Centre. The key though, is to have a clear process for how you monitor the currency of these checks and have a plan for keeping them current.
